If you went down to the woods at Wetheral Shields last weekend you were sure of a spooky surprise! Oak Tree Animals’ Charity hosted their third annual Halloween Fright Night and new Fright Fun Day to raise money to help animals in our region.
Over 65 people attended the Fright Night, where participants were challenged to brave spooky Blackburn Woods to complete the various challenges hosted by the witches and vampires. Fright Day provided younger participants to take part in a variety of fun activities including making bats and balloon Pumpkin popping! Over £500 was raised which will be used by Oak Tree to help animals in our region through their rehoming and community-based programmes.
Caroline, Oak Tree’s General Manager said “Each year this event gets bigger, better and spookier – we are delighted that so many people in the local community come along and participate. The more people that engage with our events, the better, as every single penny raised helps Oak Tree with its work.”
Oak Tree would like to extend huge thanks to everyone who visited or who volunteered at the events. For more information about Oak Tree Animals’ Charity, its work and wide range of fundraising and education events please visit www.oaktreeanimals.org.uk
