Poor start in National Div 3 for Penrith Canoe Club

L-R: Tim Mather, Luke Farley, Morven Fox, Rhys Kernan, Chris Archer, Dan Farley and Hilary Clarke.

After the encouraging start to the season in Regional Div 2 last weekend, Penrith found the standard of opposition much harder in National Div 3 North.

With a few different players in the squad this week, it took a while to start playing as a team.

Penrith improved as the tournament went on and had a few close games, but unfortunately still lost them all.

The first game was 0-5 against Manchester Wildcats, then 2-3 against White Rose, with Penrith goals from Hilary Clarke and Chris Archer.

Penrith were unfortunate against Kingston giving away a penalty due to a misunderstanding and hence losing 2-3 with Penrith goals from Luke Farley and Morven Fox.

Against Liverpool Brunswick, Penrith lost 1-4 with the Penrith goal from Morven Fox and finally against Welsh Warriors, they lost 0-2. However, Penrith were starting to understand each other a bit more and play as a team, so there is definitely potential to build on.
