Lakes-based Florence publishes “most straightforward” guide to Neuro Linguistic Programming

A NEW book co-written by a Lake District-based Neuro Linguistic Programming coach hopes to become the starting point for training courses all over the world.

Florence Madden, whose business is based in Ullswater, has teamed up with fellow internationally-certified NLP trainer Eleni Sarantinou to write ‘Everyday NLP: For life, work and relationships’, which is available now.

The book is arguably the most straightforward guide to using Neuro Linguistic Programming to date – examining how we experience it and how we can use it in our everyday lives. Its focus is on how we be the best version of ourselves, both in how we manage ourselves and in our relationships with others.

Following on from Florence’s highly-regarded debut work, ‘The Intention Impact Conundrum: Practical ways to achieve the impact you want’, this latest effort will become the pre-course reading for the pair’s own courses – and potentially for NLP courses internationally.

She said: “Eleni and I met 10 years ago when we trained to be NLP trainers and we have been friends and associates ever since.

“The idea for the book started as a joke at the end of a Skype call – we currently use someone else’s book as pre-course reading and I quipped we should write our own. Eleni’s reply was “Let’s do it – you write half I will write half…it will be great!”.

“So we started with an idea in January 2018 that we would explain NLP in everyday terms and using our own real life experiences – hence the title.”

From setting out the origins of NLP and the key ‘pillars’ of thinking on which it is built, to plotting out the goals we want to set and what we need to do to achieve them, this new book from these two experienced trainers and coaches will tell you everything you need to know about this powerful approach to communication and personal development.

Neuro Linguistic Programming is a set of skills and techniques for thinking and acting in the world, through which you can change ineffective behaviours in yourself and influence others in a positive way. The title can seem a little odd and yet it addresses issues and concerns that are common to many people, inside and outside of work.

Florence Madden says: “Someone asked me recently, ‘isn’t NLP very specialist’? And my reply was; no, it touches every part of our life, from handling criticism, developing others, building our self-belief, coaching others, being self-aware, going to do interviews and presentations, resolving disputes, reaching agreement with others, and a lot more.

“It has transformed how I behave, how I react and how I cope with the challenges and reversals of life and business. Professionally, as a trainer and a coach, it has given me skills to do the same for others.”
