Woman seriously injured in Blackford crash

Police are investigating a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the access road to Metal Bridge, Blackford that occurred at 8:15am today (Dec 3).

The vehicles involved are a Renault Clio, Volkswagen Golf and Ford transit.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The driver of the Clio a 59-year-old woman from Carlisle was taken to Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle with life changing injuries but is in a stable condition.

“The driver of the Ford from Annan suffered an arm injury.

“The driver of the Volkswagen a 42-year-old man from Carlisle was arrested on suspicion of disqualified driving and dangerous driving.”
