Appeal after woman assaulted in Maryport

Police are investigating an incident of assault and attempted theft that occurred at approximately 11pm on Tuesday 3rd December.

It is reported that three man attempted to steal a mobility scooter attached to a lamp post on High Street, Maryport. When challenged by the owner the men verbally abused and followed them to Pearl Garden on Wood Street, Maryport.

The men continued to be abusive to her and grabbed hold of her attempting to forcefully remove her from the takeaway. The men also made offensive gestures to the victim.
