Man arrested following Bootle firearms incident

Police have confirmed that a 48-year-old man has been arrested this afternoon in the south Lakes area in connection with a firearms incident in Bootle last night and is now in custody.

Police issued an appeal to locate Brian Capstick, 48, who was suspected to have been involved in a firearms incident in Bootle last night. (December 13).

Officers were contacted at 11.20pm  after a firearm was discharged in a property. No one was injured during the incident.

Superintendent Justin Bibby said: “No one was injured during the incident and a search operation is ongoing.”

Cumbria Constabulary would like to thank those who shared the appeals issued today.
