Police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at Millets on King Street, Whitehaven in the early hours of this morning (21 Dec).
The incident occurred shortly before 6am this morning when a silver car crashed into Millets.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Items of clothing worth more than £2,000 were taken from the shop before the thieves fleeing in the same vehicle.
“One man, aged 28, has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and is currently in police custody.
“Detectives are keen to hear from any witnesses to this incident who have yet to come forward.
“They are also appealing for anyone with dashcam on their vehicle and who was in the area at the time to make contact – particularly anyone travelling between Whitehaven and Salterbeck between 5am and 7am.”
