Mark Jenkinson MP meets Northern Powerhouse Minister

Mark Jenkinson and Jake Berry

MP for Workington Mark Jenkinson MP has met with Northern Powerhouse Minister Jake Berry MP in Westminster.

Mark has discussed his priorities for Workington constituency with the Minister. Improvements to infrastructure and encouraging skills and training opportunities within the constituency were key topics forming part of a number of measures that were discussed that would improve the local economy.

Mark said: “I want to see the towns and communities in my constituency thrive. That is why I welcomed the meeting with Jake Berry MP to discuss areas that would benefit from investment which would improve our local economy and make the daily lives of my constituents better.

“I used the meeting to impress upon Government that improved infrastructure and a wider range of jobs and training opportunities on our doorstep would ensure that we build a skilled workforce and attract good businesses to our region which would in turn strengthen our local economy.

“I will continue these discussions as I am keen to drive investment into our region to put Workington on the map locally and nationally.”
