Cumbria Police officer killed in M6 crash

Cumbria Constabulary has confirm that a police officer has died following a single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred earlier today (Jan 26).

The collision occurred today (Jan 26) between junction 44 and 43 at approximately 2pm and involved one police vehicle.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The officer – a 47-year-old-man who worked for Cumbria Constabulary’s Mobile Support Group – was pronounced dead at the scene and was the only occupant of the vehicle.

“Specialist officers are supporting his family at this time.”
