Over the course of the weekend, a number of inspiring speakers will be taking to the Voom stage to share their knowledge and experiences, including champion Triathlete, Beau Smith, who will be offering his top training tips, and Sarah Kekus, Founder of The Health Architect, who will be talking about the effect of endurance exercise on the hormonal health of female athletes.
There will also be packed timetable of classes for FIT-goers to try, including; HiiT, zumba, nordic walking, stick mobility and a guided 5k trail run, which can all be booked at a small extra cost.
The ‘FIT Marketplace’ will give ticket holders a chance to meet the trainers, try new kit and check out new products from big national brands, such as Alpkit and Lululemon, as well as interesting Cumbrian start-ups like Hale and Soond, Lake District Billtong, Ruby and Bean and Voom Nutrition.
The organisers are Shap-based Fox Red Events, who also organise the popular Eden Escape Festival, which takes place at Mains Farm, Kirkoswald in June.
Wiz Lees of Fox Red Events said: “The aim of FIT Cumbria is to create an opportunity for people to discover new classes, clubs and products by bringing together the best of the industry under one roof. We know that there will be lots of people hoping to get fit in 2020 and by creating this one-stop health and fitness shop, we can help them find their motivation and an activity that works for them. It’s also a chance for more experienced athletes to test new kit, try new products and listen to some inspiring talks.”
Her business partner, Leigh-ann Newburn said: “The event will showcase some of the regions best instructors, trainers and health and fitness brands, but will also bring some big and exciting national names to Cumbria, such as Lululemon and Alpkit. There’ll be something for everyone and lots of opportunities to try something new. We can’t wait.”
