This year’s Carlisle Skills Fair will take place on Thursday 6th February from 3pm – 7pm, coinciding with the National Apprenticeship Week, which is running from Monday 3rd February until Sunday 9th February 2020. The Skills Fair, hosted by John Stevenson MP, has been running at the Sands Centre since 2014 and it continues to grow in popularity every year.
This year, there will be representation from over 60 businesses and training providers who are all based in and around Carlisle. Whether you are thinking about an apprenticeship, degree or going straight into work after you leave school, there will be plenty of people on hand for you to discuss your options with.
The sponsors at this year’s Skills Fair are Center Parcs, Carlisle College, The Edge, Gen2, Cumbria County Council, University of Cumbria, JTL, Inspira, RWP Training, ICAEW, CITB Apprenticeships, Disability Confident, SP Training and System People.
Other companies who are attending the 7th annual Carlisle Skills Fair include Pirelli, Cumbria Constabulary, Tesco, Dodd and Co, Story Contracting, Pioneer Foods and the Armed Forces.
John Stevenson MP said: “I am pleased that this year’s Skills Fair coincides with National Apprenticeship Week, especially as many of the students who attended the Fair in previous years have been able to secure apprenticeships with businesses who have attended the Skills Fair in previous years.
“Carlisle Skills Fair provides a chance for businesses to showcase the brilliant opportunities that are available to young people in Carlisle and I hope that it will help us to retain local talent.”
