On 4 March, female entrepreneurs from all business sectors will come together to celebrate International Women’s Day at a business conference in Penrith.
Backed by the UN, women across the world will be seizing the moment to transform lives. The theme for 2020 International Women’s Day, #EachforEqual, is a call to accelerate gender balance; socially, economically, politically and culturally.
Pink Link are hosting an IWD event that will connect women in business by empowering, supporting and promoting female entrepreneurship in Cumbria and across the North West. The event will combine networking, exhibitor stands, inspirational speakers and a delicious 3 course lunch. There will be plenty of opportunities for women to make new connections, generate leads and grow their business.
The event features two fantastic female speakers:
Catherine Houlihan, Head of News of ITV Border has over 20 years’ experience in newspapers and tv. She will be sharing her journey of her success in what has traditionally been a male-dominated industry. Catherine is looking to meet local businesswoman and will be telling the audience how to get their story noticed.
Rosie Dummer the Cake Diva went from being the first female helicopter pilot in the British Army to Channel 4’s Extreme Cake Makers. After leaving the army to raise her family, she now makes money whilst she sleeps! With over 1 million followers on social media, Rosie works with a host of celebrities and travels the world presenting cake shows. She will be sharing tips on how you can make money whilst you sleep and have your cake and eat it too!
Samantha Parker, reporter for ITV border will also be attending the event. Her Confidence in front of the camera sessions have been helping businesswomen feel more positive about participating in interviews for tv.
