Firefighters tackle Carlisle blaze

Two fire engines were called to tackle a building fire on Dowbeck Road in Carlisle.

Fire crews were called at 1:55am today, Thursday 6 February.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews used four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

“Crews were in attendance for approximately three hours.”
