On Monday talented Morton Academy Year 9 pupil Matthew Dodds and some of his classmates headed to The Hawthorns, home of West Bromwich Albion to attend ‘Next Level Live’ an event hosted by PlayStation and The ESFA.
Here they were invited to enter an immersive, interactive experience where design met gaming and sport to create an educational trip the students will never forget.
They took part in a step by step screen-printing experience with industry professionals where every student made a T-shirt and had the opportunity to go head to head in a ‘panna cage’ against some of YouTube’s biggest Freestyle Football stars.
They were invited to take on professional gamers and talk to them about how they got into the profession.
Next Level Designer Matthew spent time in a design suite working with The Concept Club, a design agency who helped him digitise his winning T-Shirt design.
In the afternoon the students were given access all areas in the stadium attending educational talks with broadcasters, sports physios, nutritionists and sport analytics from the UCFB.
