Morecambe RNLI were called out at 1:55pm today, Thursday 13th February after receiving a report of a man cut off by the tide.
Deputy Launch Authority Justin Mawtus authorised a crew to make to the area under the helm of Trevor McMeeking for the Inshore Lifeboat and Hovercraft under the Commander of Daniel Kirk.
Upon arrival of the Inshore Lifeboat the crew made to the lone male who was cut off by the tide and waited with him until the arrival of the Hovercraft.
The male was safely transferred to the Hovercraft who then in turn made back to the shore and left him in the safety of HM Coastguard.
Justin Mawtus Deputy Launch Authority said: “The bay has fast incoming tides which are a danger in themselves.
“Anyone who does venture out on the bay they need to be aware of the tide times and stick close to the shore.”
