Celebrated singer and presenter Clare Teal is heading to West Cumbria with trailblazing pianist Jason Rebello.
These two acclaimed performers will take to the stage at Whitehaven’s Rosehill Theatre on Friday 28 February at 8pm.
As much as she loves fronting her trio or big mini band, or joining orchestras around the world, award-winning singer and BBC Radio 2 presenter Clare – with 15 acclaimed albums to her name – revels in performing in more intimate venues accompanied by just piano.
From swing to sublime ballads, her duo concerts are renowned for their musicality coupled with her warm and witty storytelling.
Jason is a celebrated performer in his own right. Classically trained but inspired by Herbie Hancock, he was the first jazz musician to secure entry as a classical student at London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama, labelled a veteran by critics at 19 and over the next decade won most of the major jazz music awards.
His acclaimed solo albums mix jazz, latin, soul and hip hop, and he has worked with the likes of Tim Garland, Sting, Jeff Beck, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Pee Wee Ellis, Joss Stone, Madeline Peyroux, and more. He has also performed with the Nice Symphony Orchestra and the Hallé Orchestra.
Together, Clare and Jason’s jazz-infused repertoire explores timeless classics penned by musical storytellers, celebrates giants of the Great American and British Songbooks, and also features the work of more contemporary writers.
