Police officers in Eden are encouraging members of the public to report illegal drug activity.
The call follows a drugs operation in Eden – Operation Deltoid – on Saturday night (15 February) where a team of officers from Eden/Penrith Response, Penrith Proactive, Special Constables and Operational
Support officers, joined by a police drugs dog, carried out proactive searches at licensed premises.
The operation was conducted between 10pm and midnight at three pubs in Penrith – Castlegate Arms, Dog Beck, and The Grey Goat.
Sergeant Neil Crawshaw said: “Whilst no arrests were made, the operation allowed officers to gather valuable intelligence.
“This will not be a one-off. Our officers will continue, in partnership with landlords, to target those who seek to use or deal drugs in our licensed premises.
“I would urge anyone with information about illegal drug activity in Eden – or anywhere else in the county – to contact police immediately.”
