Young Cumbrian Entrepreneur Debuts on BBC Radio One

Gosforth’s Oliver Hodgson made his debut this week on BBC Radio One, Oliver whom has always had a love for radio and has often visited local studios said the experience has been amazing.

Oliver has featured daily this week on Adele Robert’s early morning show, from around 5:50am each morning, playing the songs he loves and chatting with Adele for most of the week and on Tuesday was treat to Arielle Free as Adele was covering another show.

From talking about his life to the 40th Brit Awards and more Oliver had a very exciting week.

Oliver commented, “This week has been utterly amazing, Adele and Arielle have been great and so eager to get me on each morning, always having a chat before we go live was a nice touch. For those that know me know that Radio One has always been a dream, and hopefully this week counts for something and it will help me later on in life.

“I particularly enjoyed chatting all things #Brits on Wednesday morning after watching such an amazing ceremony on the telly on Tuesday it was great to be able to share my thoughts with all the listeners.

“I’d like to pay a thanks to Radio One producers Amy and Thomas, and of course to Adele Roberts and Arielle Free for being so lovely. I would also like to say a big thank you to my mum Caroline and father Dale who never fail to show their support with everything that I do, they are pretty cool!”

Adele Roberts had tweeted “He’s wonderful! Such a brilliant reaction from the listeners this morning! He’s a natural.”

Jason Rushworth broadcast journalist said: “Oliver is rising talent in the media industry and will soon become a household name!”

Oliver has shared clips on his socials and also the features will be available on the BBC Sounds app.
