Man seriously injured in Windermere golf club attack

Police are investigating a serious assault which happened yesterday (27th Feb) at about 3.45pm on the pitch and putt field of The Glebe, Windermere.

A local man in his late 50s was assaulted with a golf club and taken to hospital with facial injuries.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A 57-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in custody at this time.”

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to call PC 2217 on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting log 121 of the 27th February.
