Police appeal after mum and daughter racially abused in Carlisle

Police are investigating a hate crime incident which occurred yesterday (27th February) at around 8.20am on Brook Street, Carlisle near to the ‘Bargain Booze’ shop.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “It was reported that a man shouted racist abuse towards a woman and her young daughter while they were stood at the bus stop on the street.

“The unknown suspect is described as a white male, around 6ft 7ins tall, of slim build, clean shaven and wearing a short light blue waterproof jacket, a back woolly hat and was carrying large ‘bag for life’ shopping bags.”

Anyone with information or anyone who witnessed this incident is asked to call PC 2825 on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting log 34 of the 27th February.
