HGV driver threatened in A66 alcohol theft

Police are investigating a high-value theft from a HGV which occurred at around 1:15am on Wednesday 4th March.

A group of unknown suspects have forced entry to an HGV which was parked in a lay-by on the A66 Westbound at Temple Sowerby.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A large quantity of alcohol was stolen from the vehicle, and the HGV driver was threatened prior to the suspects leaving the area.

“The suspects are thought to have been travelling in a white coloured van and a small black coloured car.

“Police are appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have any dash cam footage which may have captured the incident or vehicles, to make contact.”
