South Lakeland’s only carer support charity wants to reassure all those caring for dependents that it is there to help during the coronavirus crisis.
Carers Support South Lakes helps around 1,250 unpaid carers, aged between six and 98-years-old, of which 132 are young carers. But is it says it also there to help any carer in the South Lakes area.
Mike Seaton from Carer Support South Lakes said: “We are continuing to provide help and support to any carer in the South Lakes area, with a team who are now working from home. We are providing one to one support, guidance and information over the phone and doing assessments.
“Carers that are not already known to us, can self-refer using the form on our website or call the office number and leave their contact details. We are picking up messages regularly and will call back.
“It’s really important that people don’t feel alone and that they ask for help,” added Mike.
Carer Support South Lakes is an independent, local charity and network partner of Carers Trust. Based in Kendal, they provide a range of services to support and enhance the lives of unpaid carers of all ages throughout South Lakeland.
