Kendal College will offer places to students affected by exam cancellations and will make sure that Corvid-19 does not affect the chances of young people in the area.
Assistant Principal, Richard Evans, said: “We will ensure that no student will miss out on their place at College because of the Coronavirus outbreak.’’
‘’Schools and Colleges will use teacher assessments to provide calculated grades for students this year, so it’s important for young people to continue to study and follow the advice given by their teachers. Whatever happens, we will find the right course for you. If you wish to study at England’s #1 ranked college, apply as normal online, and we’ll set up an interview via phone or video.”
The College is encouraging young people to use their time productively and continue to develop the skills relevant to the subject/s they have applied for, as well as English and Maths.
Staff are working remotely and continuing to support applicants and current students. Whilst the college buildings are closed to the majority of staff & students until further notice, College interviews will take place via telephone, and for some Arts & Media students, via a video conference call.
The College is committed to ensuring that no young person is disadvantaged by school closures and cancelled exams. Although details of assessments and grades are being finalised, the College is likely to include information from schools and carry out activities in the induction period, to ensure students are on the right course, at the right level, for them.
The College is awaiting further guidance from the Department for Education and information will be regularly updated at www.kendal.ac.uk/covid-19.
