Police are investigating an incident where two dogs were out of control causing injury to a teenage boy and his dog.
The incident occurred at about 6.30pm on Friday 10th April on the footpath running alongside the River Eden between Tesco and Stony Holme golf course.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The victim was walking his cocker spaniel puppy when two large dogs who were off their leads are reported to have attacked the puppy causing minor injuries.
“Whilst trying to separate the dogs the victim was also left with minor injuries to his legs.
“The unknown suspect who was with the two dogs is described as a white woman in her mid to late 40s, around 5ft 8ins, with a tanned complexion, black hair tied in a bun and wearing a blue velour type tracksuit.
“The two dogs are described as large and similar to a Rottweiler.”
Anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone with information is asked to call PC 2440 on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting log 280 of the 10th April.
Officers would like to remind dog owners that they should always have full control of their dogs when out in public and have them on a lead.
