Not every superhero wears a cape. But on National Superhero Day Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice are encouraging the local community to immerse themselves in all things superheroes to support their care during these challenging times.
On Tuesday 28 April, rather than celebrating comic book heroes the local charity wants you to show your support for your local hospice heroes who continue to provide care to local families with life limiting illnesses. Currently, the superheroes at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw are wearing scrubs, catering whites and carrying mops and hoovers as they continue to offer the highest standards of care to local people with life limiting illnesses.
Sam Johnston, Events Lead at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, said “Our care and support teams really are true superheroes, every day throughout the coronavirus situation they have continued to support local people with life limiting illnesses. They continue to be there for local people when they need us the most, no matter what is happening outside of the hospice.
“But our superheroes can’t do what they do without the generous support of the local community. So, what better way to celebrate all our superheroes than on National Superhero Day. We have come up with lots of exciting ways for families, friends and communities to take part in the day and support the hospice.”
Whether you dress up and donate, take the Hospice Hero pledge or have a movie marathon, you can join in with the National Superhero Day celebrations and support Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw. Plus, you don’t have to be superhero fan to join in with the celebrations as you can download a FREE mask and create your own superhero. Your support will make a difference during these challenging times.
The money raised through the National Superhero Day celebrations will enable Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw to continue to provide care for local people with life limiting illnesses. The hospice is open and continuing to provide care and compassion to local community. The hospice is still here for our community and supporting the NHS.
