Police are appealing for information following a fire that left Silloth residents without internet connectivity.
The fire occurred around 12am midnight on Friday 5th June 2020, when someone set fire to a wiring cabinet near the town’s telephone exchange on Station Road.
The incident caused significant disruption to the town’s telephone and internet; engineers are currently working to restore full services.
Detective Constable Dave Matthews from Workington Police Station said: “Cumbria Police recognises the disruption caused by this incident.
“We are conducting a thorough investigation and urge anyone with information to contact police at the earliest opportunity. I am particularly keen on hearing from anyone using a dash-cam in the area of Station Road on the night in question.”
