Man arrested on suspicion of murder after man killed in Barrow stabbing

At 7.56pm last night (12 June) police were called to a property in the Broad Close area of Barrow in Furness following a report that a man had been stabbed.

On attendance the victim, a man aged in his late 40’s was taken to Furness General Hospital but died a short time later.

Formal identification is yet to be made.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “As a result of initial scene enquiries, a local man aged 63-years-old was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently detained.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”

Police are appealing for anyone with information or anyone who witnessed this incident to call police on 101 quoting log 198 of the 12th June.
