At 7.56pm last night (12 June) police were called to a property in the Broad Close area of Barrow in Furness following a report that a man had been stabbed.
On attendance the victim, a man aged in his late 40’s was taken to Furness General Hospital but died a short time later.
Formal identification is yet to be made.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “As a result of initial scene enquiries, a local man aged 63-years-old was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently detained.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
