Thea’s Lakeland Walks, a dog walking and pet care company based in Penrith, have managed to expand their business during what is deemed a very difficult time for small businesses.
Thea’s Lakeland Walks is run by husband and wife team, Katy and Craig Smith, and named for their Husky, Thea.
Established in 2018, Thea’s Lakeland Walks quickly became popular in the community for their dog walking, pet pop in visits, home boarding and wedding / events assistance services.
The business was also a runner up for the Business of the Year award at the 2019 Stars of Business Award, hosted by Penrith Chamber of Trade and Commerce.
Like many small businesses, the lockdown and current Coronavirus pandemic has taken their toll, but even in these uncertain times, Thea’s Lakeland Walks has managed to expand by offering a range of gift boxes for your pets.
Not only does this expansion mean great news for Thea’s Lakeland Walks, it also means great news for their suppliers. Each item, from the box itself to the internal packaging, treats and toys, are sourced from other small businesses, run by families, parents, small teams and sole traders. The purchase of each box helps to support at least 5 small businesses.
“Small businesses are the heart of our communities, they have been the ones working tirelessly throughout the past few months to ensure their customers are cared for. Now, more than ever, they need our support, and if we can support them by stocking their products, then we absolutely will.” – Katy Smith, one founder of Thea’s Lakeland Walks.
