Barrow journalist, Amy Fenton charged with drug-driving and possession of class A drugs

A journalist working for The Mail newspaper in Barrow has been charged with possession of class A drugs and driving while under the influence of drugs.

Amy Fenton, 35, south Cumbria’s chief reporter for Newsquest was arrested on the evening of 6th of March after being stopped by police on the M6 northbound near junction 36.

Fenton of Dalton-in-Furness has been charged with being in possession of the class A drug cocaine and driving a vehicle while unfit through drugs.

Fenton was charged under her married name of Amy Robertson. She is due to appear at Barrow Magistrates’ Court on 20 July.
