Cyclist seriously injured in Walney collision

Emergency services were called to Walney yesterday afternoon (9 July) following a collision which has left a cyclist with serious injuries.

Police were called at 5pm to a report of a cyclist having collided with a trailer, which was stationary and parked at the side of the road.

The collision occurred on the Promenade, close to the junction with Central Drive.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “An air ambulance attended the scene and the cyclist, a local man in his 60s, was taken to hospital.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident but is yet to come forward is urged to contact police referencing incident 136 of 9th July 2020.
