POLICE are investigating an assault that occurred around 12.30am on Sunday morning (19 July) outside the Golden Fleece services at Junction 42.
A large group of people left the woods in the early hours of the morning and an altercation took place, whereby one man was attacked with a bottle.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A 24-year-old man from Carlisle was arrested on suspicion of assault and has now been released under investigation.”
