The second of the Penrith Players’ recordings done during the COVID crisis is released today. It is called Strangers in Paradise, is written by Kevan France and has some excellent actors amongst its cast.
Kevan is currently the chair of North Cumbria Scriptwriters and lives in South Lakeland. Two of his plays won local competitions and have been presented by the Players in the past.
The play deals with how the residents in a West Cumbrian village cope with some newcomers, It has been recorded by Jordan Summers of 1Five Events.
The original music for the series was written and performed by Peter Moran.
The Players are grateful to Create to Connect for their support.
Mike Head directed the piece, he said: “We have been reading plays on line since lockdown began in March and this has been a good way to let our friends and supporters see what we have been doing. The Playhouse may be closed, but the Players are still active. They have also been fun to do even if under strict COVID restriction guidelines.”
The play can be found on the Players’ Facebook page.
