Police are investigating an incident of racial aggravated hate crime that occurred on Market Street, Barrow at around 8:30pm yesterday (Aug 22).
It is reported a man has approached a group of people outside a hotel and subjected them to racial abuse.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Officers are aware of a video circulating social media around this incident.
“A 66-year-old man from Barrow has been arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated Section 4a Public Order Act and remains in police custody.
“Any hate related incidents will not be tolerated and will be dealt with robustly.”
