The third of the Penrith Players’ recordings done during the COVID crisis is released today. It is called The Drop, is written by Tara Vallente and has some excellent actors amongst its cast.
Tara has worked widely in the media in Cumbria and is currently a producer with BBC Radio Cumbria. She has also been a member of the North Cumbria Scriptwriters and lives in Keswick.
The play deals with a food bank set up in the floods of 2015 in Keswick.The Drop is a picture by Alison Critchlow which features in the piece, It has been recorded by Jordan Summers of 1Five Events. The original music for the series was written and performed by Peter Moran. The Players are grateful to Create to Connect for their support.
Tara said: “I have really missed live theatre during lockdown, so I was really happy that Penrith Players decided to use the time to rehearse and record plays for us all to enjoy online.
“I am really grateful that my play about the 2015 flood in Keswick was chosen as one of the five pieces written by Cumbrian scriptwriters.
