Police were called at 10.13am this morning (27 August) following a collision involving a cyclist and a grey Nissan car on Main Street, Brampton.
The cyclist, a man in his 50’s, sustained serious injuries. He was airlifted to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough, where he was in a serious but stable condition.
The occupant of the car was uninjured.
The road was closed for several hours while a forensic collision investigation and recovery was carried out. It has since been re-opened.
Officers are keen to speak to a woman pedestrian who witnessed the incident but left in the direction of Front Street before leaving her details.
