The next play in the series of recorded plays by Penrith Players is by local Eden writer, Hannah Sowerby.
Hannah was an active member of our junior group and also acted in some main season plays. The play is called The Village Weirdo and Hannah told us a bit about it.
“It’s a beautiful day in the picturesque Cumbrian village of White-Lily. The flowers are all in bloom, the bakery is open and selling its nicest sandwiches, and the postman is bustling about in a jolly fashion. It’s a good thing too, because those people from the TV are coming, on the hunt for “Britain’s Friendliest Village”. The mayor thinks they’re bound to win, but there’s one problem… the village weirdo.”
The play was recorded by Jordan Summers of 1Five Events. One more play in the series next week. Hope you enjoy. If you’ve missed us, it’s your chance to catch up.
The play can be found on the Players’ website or on the Players’ Facebook page.
The Players are grateful to Create to Connect for their support and to Pete Moran who provided the music to each one.
