A MAN accused of assaulting a Carlisle petrol station shop manager and also of intimidating a colleague after the initial incident is to stand trial early next year.
Daniel Peter Gill, 24, faced three charges when he appeared at the city’s crown court earlier today (FRI).
One alleges that he assaulted the manager of Wigton Road’s Esso garage store, causing her actual bodily harm, on January 5 this year.
Gill also faces two intimidation charges. These allege that he first “shouted abuse” and “verbally threatened” a female colleague of the manager on January 21, before “pointed his finger” at her six days later.
During a short hearing, Gill pleaded not guilty to those three charges when they were put to him by a court clerk.
Gill, of Mardale Road, Carlisle, is now due to stand trial in front of a jury in the week of January 4, 2021.
In the meantime he was granted bail on the condition that he does not contact any prosecution witnesses.
