A South Lakes running group has set up a fund to help young people who are struggling to find enough to eat.
The Jogging Pals are aiming to raise £1,000 to donate to King’s food bank, Kendal to support the local community. Director Wayne Singleton says they will match this through Jogging Pals with up to £1,000.
‘We’ve all been enraged by recent news about young people not being able to afford food recently, so we thought we’d do something positive to try and help,’ said Wayne, a running coach who also organises run experiences in the Lake District.
Jogging Pals will match-fund up to £1,000 to donate to the food bank to help feed people who may be struggling.
King’s Food Bank provides emergency food support to people in Kendal and nearby districts in South Lakeland. Founded by members of King’s Church in Kendal, it is a community project providing food donations given by local people to others in the community who are experiencing difficulties.
