Firefighters tackle Penrith vehicle fire

Two fire engines and a water bowser have attended a report of a large vehicle on fire at Caldew Wood, Penrith.

Fire crews were called at 2:17pm on Sunday, 25 October.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “This was a fire involving one excavator, the fire was extinguished using two dry powder extinguishers and one main jet.

“Fire crews were in attendance for approximately one hour and thirty minutes.”
