Police are investigating an incident of assault that occurred in Bitts Park under the railway bridge next to the river between 5pm and 5:30pm on 16th November.
A boy of secondary school age was pushed into the river and assaulted by another male believed to be of similar age.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “As a result, he sustained cuts and bruises to the face.
“Officers are keen to speak to a male that was seen dressed in dark clothing in the area of Bitts Park at the time of incident, he is around 5″8′ in height.”
